With the assignment to, “do something good with $1,000,” a group of eight students worked to install three hammocks on campus, a way to create a small but well-meaning change in the lives of Georgetown students.
In Manhattan a 12 foot hammock flew off of a building and hit a tourist on her way to visit the World Trade Center.
People at Central Michigan University celebrated Hammock for Homelessness Day, which helped to raise awareness to those who do not have the luxury of shelter in their current lives. I think that something like this would go over well here at Humboldt State Uni, I may try and start it up next year.
High hopes Hammock company was created by Central Michigan University alums Christian Cullinan and Georgiana Klem, and senior Connor Moynihan. They aim to help those without homes by providing food and a hammock, which can act as a valuable temporary movable shelter for someone in need of a cozy place to lay their head.
